Here's how it works:
- Booking your puzzle tour is easy with just a few clicks: simply choose the right day and time.
- You can pick up the puzzle backpack on Herzog-Max-Straße: the first puzzle stage awaits you there.
- Piece by piece, you solve riddle after riddle, unlocking lock after lock on the backpack and progressing through Sams Week. Because Sams will only arrive on Saturday if every day before goes exactly as it should... 😉
- After approximately 2-3 hours, your puzzle tour ends back on Herzog-Max-Straße with the return of your backpack.

Is the puzzle tour tablet- or app-based?
No, our children's puzzle tour is intentionally not tablet- or app-based to ensure a fully interactive experience. The puzzle backpack, with its tactile materials, invites participation and solving of the puzzles. All puzzle cards are colorful and designed with children in mind.
How many people is the tour suitable for?
Our puzzle tour is designed for groups of up to 8 people per puzzle backpack.
If your group is larger than 8 people, please book a second, third, or even fourth puzzle backpack. Ideally, you should then split up a bit and start 10 minutes apart to avoid overcrowding at the puzzle stations.
How much does the "The Sams" puzzle tour cost?
We offer the tour at a fixed price of €69 per puzzle backpack. We recommend starting with no more than 8 people per puzzle backpack to ensure everyone can participate fully and enjoy the puzzle fun.
What do I need to bring?
Please wear weather-appropriate clothing for a 2-3 hour stay outdoors and comfortable shoes for an approximately 3 km walk.
Bring a drink and maybe a snack.
Otherwise, you will receive all the necessary materials with and in the puzzle backpack.
Is the tour playable regardless of the weather?
Yes, regardless of whether it's spring, summer, autumn, or winter, you can play the "The Sams" puzzle tour all year round. Even drizzle, wet ground, or wind won't spoil the fun. However, if it's pouring rain on your booked time slot, you can reschedule or change your booking free of charge, or receive a voucher.
When can we play the puzzle tour?
Our booking system shows all available dates. Since daylight is needed to solve the puzzle, we are dependent on sunrise and sunset, and therefore, start times are available in the early evening during the summer, but not in the winter.
The tour is playable every day.

Unlike other outdoor escape games, our puzzle tour is only playable in Bamberg. Our Sams puzzle tour is more than just a walk through Bamberg – it's an interactive adventure where children become explorers themselves! Each station playfully challenges them to think, guess, or be creative – without screens, but with plenty of imagination. Just like in the book, everything follows the schedule of the days of the week...

How long does the tour last?
The tour lasts approximately 2.5-3 hours and involves a walking distance of approximately 3km.
For what age group is the tour suitable?
Ideal for children between 5 and 13 years old, and even older children – with an adult. Older children and adults will also enjoy it and will even have to solve the puzzles themselves! The tour is too difficult for younger children to complete on their own.
Otherwise, the "The Trail of the Tomcat Murr" tour in Bamberg is also great for children aged 9 and up.
The tour "The Rider's Secret" is suitable for young people aged 13 and up, who can participate as fully-fledged puzzle solvers.
