Is the escape game tablet- or app-based?
No, "The Trail of Murr the Cat" is deliberately not tablet- or app-based to ensure a fully interactive experience. The investigative backpack, with its tactile equipment, invites participation and puzzle-solving. This way, we avoid a situation where one person is glued to a screen while others stand bored by.
How many people is the tour suitable for?
Our outdoor escape tour is ideal for groups of up to 8 people. If your group is larger, you can still join; we'll provide you with several puzzle backpacks, subject to availability, and you can split up for the tour. You can then start either all at once or slightly staggered. Please contact us by phone, WhatsApp, or chat to arrange this.
How much does the outdoor escape tour cost?
You pay €24.90 for each person (aged 13 and over) for "The Trail of the Tomcat Murr".
What do I need to bring?
Please wear weather-appropriate clothing for a 2-3 hour stay outdoors and comfortable shoes for an approximately 3 km walk.
Bring a drink and maybe a snack.
Each group needs at least one internet-enabled smartphone. Otherwise, you will receive all the necessary equipment in the investigative backpack.
Is the tour playable regardless of the weather?
Yes, regardless of whether it's spring, summer, autumn, or winter, you can play the puzzle tour "The Trail of the Tomcat Murr" all year round. Even drizzle, wet ground, or wind won't spoil the fun. However, if it's pouring rain on your booked time slot, you can reschedule or change your booking free of charge, or receive a voucher.
Is "The Trail of the Tomcat Murr" suitable for children?
For families with (small) children aged 5 to 10, we recommend our children's puzzle tour "The Sams"!
The tour "The Trail of the Tomcat Murr" is recommended for children aged 9 and over.
The tour isn't too difficult and is suitable for beginners. While it's not specifically designed for children, and might be too challenging for children to solve alone, we've had good experiences when parents and children go together and work on the puzzles as a team. The paths aren't too long, clues can always be used to help solve the puzzles, and the tactile, interactive elements are especially enjoyable for children. Children up to and including 8 years old participate completely free of charge. From 9 years old, children are considered full participants in "The Trail of the Tomcat Murr."
When can we play the Escape Tour?
Our booking system shows all available dates. Since daylight is needed to solve the puzzle, we are dependent on sunrise and sunset, and therefore, start times are available in the early evening during the summer, but not in the winter.
The tour is playable every day.
What makes our escape game so special?
Unlike other outdoor escape games, our puzzle tour is only playable in Bamberg and is not based on identical stations simply placed at different GPS coordinates. It is 100% tailored to the city, its history, and its locations and cannot be played anywhere else. All puzzles are handmade, unique, and tactile. You don't need to install an app, and we won't provide you with a tablet.
Are we solving puzzles together with others?
No, we don't mix groups. You always start in the exact group you specified when booking and are completely on your own. Since several groups are on the tour simultaneously on busy days, it's unavoidable that you might encounter other groups along the way. We leave enough space between the individual group starts, but of course, we can't and don't want to dictate the pace at which anyone solves the puzzles, so this is unavoidable. But this won't detract from your puzzle experience :)
Are dogs allowed?
Of course. Dogs are welcome on all our tours. Team Game is the perfect outdoor activity for you, while your dog also gets plenty of exercise.
